Enrichment Programs

The JBBP curriculum is supplemented by a unique enrichment program which offers instruction in art, music, computer science, physical education, and Japanese language & culture.

Japanese language instruction is integrated with the daily curriculum. Computer science and PE are offered weekly, while art instruction is provided every other week. Upper grades learn Taiko drumming in addition to the district provided music instrument instruction beginning in 3rd grade.

The JBBP Parent Advisory Council (PAC) provides the leadership and parent volunteers to raise funds and resources to support our enrichment subjects. PAC also supplements teachers’ classroom funds and supports many field trips including over nights for the upper grades, trips to the De Young, Monterey Bay Aquarium, Japanese Tea Garden, Academy of Science and more. Our annual enrichment budget is over $181,500 annually, or over $703 per child.
