Library

We are very proud of our very colorful, “inviting” library atmosphere. Our children visit the library once a week at a scheduled time with their class at which time they have a story read to them, puppet show, readers’ theatre, view a pre-recorded literacy film, sometimes have a guest author, illustrator.... They are then offered an activity to do after they have made their book selection for the week. They may also choose to read books at that time. Each child may borrow one book per week, and is encouraged to visit the library as often as they would like to exchange books on their own.

The non-fiction side of the library “houses” our computer lab where the children are given instruction and, as they get older, are able to come in on their own to do research, etc.

We have one of the largest book collections in the District. Our annual Book Fair fundraiser allows us extra money to make additions to this collection each year.

Each year we have a “Read Aloud Day” wherein we invite everyone to come and read with our children for the day. We wear pajamas and bring stuffed animals, which makes for a very cozy day.

Come visit our library and see for yourself!
